Pests and disease have always been a concern for beekeepers, and so maintaining the health of the colonies is one of their most important jobs.
Beekeepers keep a close watch on the colonies so that any problems can be detected early on, and damage can be controlled without too much loss. They can prevent or treat problems with natural or chemical methods, or a combination of both.
