Honey that has been fermented is the basis for mead, which is often called honey wine.

Mead

Mead, or honey wine, as it's often called, is an alcoholic beverage fermented from honey, water and yeast. It can be mild or strong, but is usually sweet. There are many different varieties: some have spices added and some are flavoured with hops, while others are made with fruit.
